Dive Journal: Day one.

Alright, now this was supposed to go up around six days ago, but I've been having trouble putting up these entries for some reason. I'm just going to dump all of these into separate posts, just so that I have an easier time organizing them. For those who don't know what these random writings are, they were supposed to be two to three paragraph blurbs which reflected some of the thoughts I had on that days dives.

Today I spent one-hundred and five minutes underwater, spread out over two dives. I ended up with over one-hundred and seventy-five pictures on my memory card. And the best part of these facts is that I get to repeat those 9 more times over the course of this trip.

Being underwater is more than just entering the water and seeing things from a different perspective. It’s akin to being in a place where the rules that we live our lives by do not apply. A place where gravity is merely a suggestion, not a law. Not even light acts the same way underwater; it bends and reflects in ways that most people can’t imagine, creating distortions that catch the unprepared by surprise. Colors mostly just blend together into shades of blue, but sometimes, bright patches of color will shoot across your vision. It’s going to be fun working with all of these variables.
